#17 in the life of Aksh

23/2/2021

Let's title today as Stage 3.
Every day is routine. But, there are some days which do not seem usual. My last few days have felt like they were changing something fundamental in me — something that stayed constant for a long time. I have been fairly distant from the concept of companionship, finding peace in my own world of anime, stories, family, and lifestyle. It's a small fun world that I call my life, and I like to be the curator of it. So, what's different now? What is stage 3?
I am at an age in which life comes in plurals. Since last year, I have opened up to the idea of being with someone. And hence, the age-old process of an Indian wedding has begun. Nothing is too far-off or exaggerated when you talk about the way Indians go partner hunting. And, let me tell you that the format of matchmaking is meticulous. We have been in touch with an agency that simplifies the onboarding process for us, guiding along and helping me find the match as per my interests and personality.
So, for the last few months, we have received proposals, allowing us to develop an opinion and understand our choice. We reached Stage 1 when we accepted a proposal and asked the matchmaker to share it with the other side. We reached Stage 2 when the other side accepted our offer and was willing to meet. So, the stage 3 is when we meet!

That's where I am right now, and tomorrow is the day that Stage 3 happens!
We are taking it sequentially. So, Mom and Dad would start off the conversation with her parents tomorrow, trying to understand if our families are compatible. They would then relay the message to us, so that we can meet and take a call ourselves. Hopefully, this "understanding" phase should consume some time before we finally say yes (if we do), and then it becomes official.
The format is fairly new to me, so, I'm spending my time not thinking about it, and blogging instead! There is also the idea of being anxious about this. Let's just say that I'm not there yet. I have not thought out what I'm going to talk about, but I'll let time play its course.

Life is adding a new chapter, and I like reading it so far.
Hey world! I'm open to change.

Side-note: I bought a new keyboard (MX Keys) and I wanted to take it on a typing test drive. So, this blog is a result of that test. I had been missing my entries for some time, and it's good that today I had a reason to write.
