These are my handwritten Control Systems notes. Third year, second semester, Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.
I joined BITS Pilani in 2011. Control Systems is a course that teaches you to read a system: how feedback shapes its behavior, how a mathematical model captures what a physical process does, and what it takes to make a design stable. These notes cover mathematical models, feedback characteristics, stability analysis, root locus, frequency response, and state variable design. A separate Control Systems MATLAB Lab page holds all the lab work. These notes are part of the Engineering Foundations study path on this site.
I learned by teaching. I would sit with friends and classmates and work through the material until I could make it plain. Understanding something deeply enough to teach it is the highest form of mastery. These notes grew from that practice.
In 2013, from a hostel room, I put my handwritten notes online at akshansh.net. Since then, at least one person in the world has studied from my notes every single day. They are free.
