Creativity and Computation. These are my notes for that course. Graduate, first year, MFA in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design, fall twenty eighteen. Before Parsons, I studied engineering at BITS Pilani. Parsons gave that instinct a design vocabulary. This course is where they met. It is part of the Parsons Years study path.

In twenty thirteen, from a hostel room, I put my notes online. Since then, at least one person in the world studies from them every day. They are free. The full notes are a PDF on this page. Read it right here, or open and download it. Learn. Share. Repeat.

These are my graduate notes for Creativity and Computation at Parsons School of Design, New York. First year, fall 2018. My first semester at Parsons.

I came from Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani. Computation was familiar ground. This course put creativity and computation in the same title and asked me to hold them together. It was the beginning of a two-year conversation between the engineer I had trained as and the designer I was becoming.

In 2013, from a hostel room, I started putting my handwritten notes online at akshansh.net so others could learn from them. That habit has continued. Since 2013, at least one person in the world studies from my notes every single day. They are free.

These notes are part of the Parsons Years study path on my notes page. They belong to the first semester, at the start of that path.
