These are my handwritten lab notes for Electrical Machines, second year, first semester, Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.
Lab notes work differently from lecture notes. They are the record of what you actually do with your hands: running experiments, taking measurements, watching how theory behaves when a real machine is in front of you. These experiments cover motor testing, generator characteristics, and practical measurements. The lecture notes for Electrical Machines are on a separate page on this site, and the two sets pair together.
I joined ECE at BITS Pilani in 2011. I learned by teaching friends and classmates, explaining until I understood something well enough to explain it again. Understanding something deeply enough to teach it is the highest form of mastery. In 2013, from a hostel room, I put my handwritten notes online so others could learn from them too.
Since 2013, at least one person in the world studies from my notes every day. They are free.
