These are my handwritten lecture notes for EM Fields and Microwave Engineering, third year, first semester, Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.
This is an advanced electromagnetics course. It covers EM field theory, microwave components, waveguides, and antenna fundamentals. The material builds directly on the Electromagnetic Theory course from second year; those notes are also on this site if you need to fill a gap before you reach this level.
I joined ECE at BITS Pilani in 2011. I learned by teaching friends and classmates: if I could not explain something clearly, I did not understand it. Understanding something deeply enough to teach it is the highest form of mastery. In 2013, from a hostel room, I put my handwritten notes online so others could learn from them.
Since 2013, at least one person in the world studies from my notes every day. They are free.
