Technical Report Writing was a humanities course in my first year, second semester, at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. It sits in a different register from the engineering courses around it. The notes cover the structure of technical and scientific reports, the conventions of style that make writing readable, how to reference sources correctly, and the fundamentals of professional communication. These are skills that outlast any particular course.
