An Excel sheet of furniture specs is hard to use on a factory floor. You are on your feet, moving between samples, trying to match what you see to a row on a phone.
In March twenty twenty-six, I built TVC Shopping for a furniture buying trip to China, to source furniture for a company's new head office. I turned that Excel data into a browsable, searchable mobile app that works offline. You can check specs, images, and requirements on the floor.
Vibe-coded with AI. It launched. It did its job.
The trip is done. The work has moved into a visual catalogue of the campus: what is needed, what was bought, what is left. Follow along.
Narrated in my own cloned voice, generated with ElevenLabs v4.
An Excel sheet of furniture specs is hard to use on a factory floor. You’re standing in a showroom in China, trying to check a requirement against a master sheet, and the spreadsheet isn’t built for that moment.
I built TVC Shopping in March 2026, ahead of a furniture buying trip to China in April. The company I work with was sourcing furniture for a new head office, and all the requirements lived in a master Excel sheet. That sheet needed to become something you could use on a phone, on the floor, without a connection.
TVC Shopping turns that Excel data into a browsable, searchable mobile interface. You can check specs, images, and requirements while you’re standing in a factory. It works offline. It’s a visual field companion.
I built it with HTML and JavaScript as a progressive web app, vibe-coded with AI. It launched before the trip and did its job.
The trip is done. The app isn’t being upgraded. The work has moved into a visual catalogue of every interior piece on the campus, answering three questions: what’s needed, what was bought, and what’s left. TVC Shopping was the first step.
